1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Rin, you agree to be legally bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should not use our application.

2. Service Description

Rin: Migraine Tracker is a free mobile application designed to help users track, monitor and analyze their migraine episodes. The application allows:

Creating and managing a personal account via Google or Apple
Recording migraine episodes with detailed information
Documenting symptoms, pain levels, lifestyle factors
Recording medications used and their effectiveness
Assessing the social and emotional impact of episodes
Editing and deleting episode records
Deleting account and all associated data

Integrated Technical Services

To improve the functionality and reliability of the application, we use:

Firebase Analytics: To understand how the app is used and improve it (anonymous data)
Firebase Crashlytics: To automatically detect and fix technical errors
App Tracking Transparency (iOS): Apple's system to request tracking consent

3. Medical Disclaimer

Always consult with a qualified physician or healthcare professional about:

Any symptoms or medical conditions
Changes in medications or treatments
Health-related decisions
Interpretation of recorded data

Your health data should complement, not replace, the relationship between you and your healthcare provider.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to:

Provide accurate and truthful information
Use the application solely for personal purposes
Maintain the confidentiality of your account
Not share your access with third parties
Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

It is prohibited to:

Use the application for commercial purposes without authorization
Attempt to access other users' data
Modify, hack or manipulate the application

Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
Create false accounts or misrepresent your identity

5. Data Collection and Analytics

Anonymous Usage Data

To improve the application and fix errors, we automatically collect:

Important: This data is completely anonymous and never includes your personal health information or migraine episodes.

Tracking Consent (iOS)

On iOS devices, we request your consent through App Tracking Transparency before performing any tracking. You can:

Accept tracking for improved analytics
Decline tracking (the app works just as well)
Change your decision anytime in Settings > Privacy > Tracking

Firebase Services (Google)

We use Firebase services that may process data according to Google's terms:

Firebase Crashlytics: Subject to Google Cloud terms
Firebase Authentication/Storage: For secure login and storage

6. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is fundamental to us. The health data you record in Rin:

Is only accessible by you
Is not shared with third parties without your consent
Can be completely deleted by deleting your account
Is processed according to applicable privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA)

7. Limitation of Liability

Use at your own risk: Rin is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

Under no circumstances will we be liable for:

Medical decisions based on application data
Data loss (although we implement security measures)
Direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages
Service interruptions or technical errors
Issues arising from third-party services (Firebase, Google, Apple)
Decisions based on analytics data or generated reports
Lost profits, business interruption, or loss of business information

8. Intellectual Property

Rin: Migraine Tracker is an open source project with the following provisions:

The data you enter belongs completely to you
The source code is available under open source license
Trademarks, logos and design elements are protected
You may not redistribute the application without authorization
User-generated content remains your property
You grant us a limited license to process your data as described in our Privacy Policy

9. Account Management and Termination

Your Rights

You may at any time:

Stop using the application
Delete your account and all data from settings
Log out and revoke access
Disable analytics in application settings
Change your ATT tracking preferences on iOS
Export your data before deletion

Our Rights

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate service for:

Violation of these terms
Technical maintenance requirements
Legal compliance reasons
Suspected fraudulent or harmful activity

10. Third-Party Services

By using Rin: Migraine Tracker, you also agree to be subject to the terms and conditions of:

Google/Firebase

Apple (for iOS users)

11. Updates and Modifications

App Updates

We may release updates to improve functionality, security, or compliance. While not mandatory, we strongly recommend keeping the app updated.

Terms Updates

We may update these terms occasionally. Important changes will be notified through:

Email to registered users (when applicable)
Request for new consent when legally required

Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable local laws where the service is provided.

Our failure to enforce any provision of these terms will not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.

14. Force Majeure

We will not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

Natural disasters or acts of God
Government actions, regulations, or sanctions
Internet service provider failures
Third-party service interruptions (Firebase, Google, Apple)
Cyber attacks or security breaches

You will use the app responsibly and in good faith
You are at least 16 years old or have parental consent
